Gemmune I.B. is an immunobiotic derived from Lactobacillus plantarum HKL-137, a heat-killed, stabilised strain, standardised for its high content of Lipoteichoic Acid (LTA).

When LTA binds to the toll-like receptor (TLR2), it initiates a signalling cascade that activates a significant immune response (Figure 2). Modifying the gut environment in this way to foster the growth of the commensals allows an individual’s gut ecology to be restored using the same principles employed by Nature.
